Who?

We currently have around 20 members registered.

Members are also eligible to play for one of our teams, playing at County level. We have 3 teams in: Div. 1,

Div. 3 & Div 6. This is merely an entitlement; should you simply want to play friendly games for fun, you would be equally welcome.

Anyone interested is more than welcome to visit. You do not need an invite, simply turn up and say hello!

Regular members pay an annual club fee of around £60 for the year. Concessions are available.

Members who play competitive chess must also register with the ECF. This requires an additional £18 minimum.

When?

Club nights are on Thursdays, around 7:45 onwards.

The venue is open to us all year, although the 'Chess Season' generally runs from around October to June.

If you would like more info, send us a message on the 'Home' page or ring our Treasurer.

Why?

Chess is fun!

Yes, games are taken seriously but the club does like to enjoy itself. This is why, as well as playing league games we also host a number of 'in house' competitions and fun days; these include:

1 Day competitions:

Blitz Chess (5 minute games)

Rapid Play (30 minute games)

Simultaneous (all Vs the No.1)

Consulatation Games

Season Competitions:

Hewitt Cup (Play who you can find)

Club Championship (A bit more formal)

As well as the Leagues the County hosts a number of fun days and events as well that the BSCC also support.

The club also has regular 'dinners', getting together informally for a good meal and the occasional tipple!

All Visitors are Welcome!
